The EU Health Policy Forum:
- Has welcomed the opportunity to contribute to discussions on the proposed Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing as presented to the Forum on 21 October 2010 and explained in a Commission’s document entitled “European Innovation Partnerships, Aims and scope of a pilot European Innovation Partnership in the field of active and healthy ageing” and would like to congratulate the European Commission for setting up this initiative. In particular, the Forum acknowledges that health is the first matter addressed within the Europe 2020 flagship initiative, trusting that this demonstrates the Commission’s commitment to enhanced health policies and strategies for the benefit of European citizens;
- has welcomed the importance given to involving all relevant stakeholders to contribute to the Partnership’s proposed work areas;
- Has recognised that behind the Innovation Union there is a commitment at the highest levels of EU and Member State Government to focus on areas of society where EU policies promote innovative research, products, technologies and solutions that could help to generate European jobs and economic growth.
